Our Commitment

513 Apartments is committed to ensuring that our website and digital services are accessible to all individuals, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to housing information and services, and we are actively working to meet and maintain recognized accessibility standards across our online presence.

1. Standards We Target

513 Apartments aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor impairments.

We also seek to comply with applicable requirements under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Fair Housing Act (FHA) as they apply to our digital communications and services.

We are additionally evaluating WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria and incorporating updates over time.

2. Current Conformance Status

Our website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some portions of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate non-conforming elements and conduct ongoing accessibility reviews using automated evaluation tools and manual testing.

If you experience any difficulty completing a rental application or accessing housing information on our website due to a disability, please contact us immediately. We will provide reasonable accommodation to ensure you have equal access to our application process.

3. Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content on our website may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Known or potential limitations include:

Property listing photos: Alt text may be incomplete. Alternative: Contact us for a verbal description of any unit.

Video walkthroughs: Captions may not be available on all videos. Alternative: We will provide a written description or guided phone walkthrough on request.

PDF documents (leases, addenda): PDFs may not be fully tagged for screen readers. Alternative: We will provide documents in an accessible format on request.

Third-party content: Embedded maps or widgets may not be fully accessible. Alternative: Contact us for address and directions in plain text.

If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please let us know using the contact information in Section 7.

4. What We're Doing

513 Apartments takes the following steps to improve and maintain accessibility across our digital presence:

- Automated monitoring: We use automated accessibility scanning tools to identify WCAG violations on an ongoing basis.
- Alt text standards: We apply descriptive alt text to images, including property photos, to support screen reader users.
- Form accessibility: Our rental application and contact forms are reviewed to ensure fields are properly labeled and navigable by keyboard and assistive technology.
- Color contrast: We maintain color contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA minimums across our website design.
- Keyboard navigation: Core site navigation and interactive elements are designed to be operable without a mouse.
- Third-party review: When engaging vendors for website updates or new features, we include accessibility requirements as part of our evaluation criteria.
- Ongoing remediation: Accessibility issues reported by users are logged, prioritized, and addressed within a reasonable timeframe.
